The script for Introspective was written across two days for version one of the game. Admittedly, I was a little unhappy with parts and worried the pacing was a little off, but it was a start and that is what was most important.

Using google docs, so James could see it when it came to creating the game, I took the time to make sure to document any asset change as well as when characters were off or on screen. I wanted to make it so easy to read, that when James did the coding and layout, he’d be able to see who was needed where. In the end, James said it helped really well, especially where I made sure to label the exact file name of each png so he knew which one to swap out too.

I wanted to have the text wiggle or move across the screen especially when Id would speak to show the emotions of their speech, but again, this would probably be saved for a version two rendition as I just didn’t have the time to implement it into the first game.

I also wanted to have it so there would be multiple choice, but that will come in the second edition of my script. I was happy with what I was able to achieve in a small amount of time and my friend who read snippets agreed that while it certainly didn’t pull any punches, it was good to see the representation and pure raw emotional and personal touch it had to it.
